Approximately one year old.
Before Maddie came to us, she was in a cage with twelve other gliders- her parents and her siblings at one of my friend’s mom’s house. We call her Crabby Maddie because she is very vocal about her feelings. She crabbed the entire car ride. I examined her when we got to my mom’s house to find that she was carrying a joey and had been for a while. Our bonding process with Maddie is taking longer because we tried to leave her alone while she was carrying Pascal. She was never handled before us and doesn’t come toward us when we approach her cage. She also won’t stay on us when we let her play, but she no longer crabs when I pet her in her pouch. It’s a slow process, but we’ll get there one day. About a month after she joined us, Pascal came out of pouch and she rejected him a week later due to her lack of milk production. She takes care of Emma like her mommy and I can tell she’s a sweetheart behind all that crabbing:)
